Almost ten years ago now, the CDEA began
praying about the possibility of planting a new church in Valparaiso,
IN. While the area was growing and
many excellent churches already exist, over 1/3 of the people in and around
Valparaiso still did not have a church home.
For this reason, the CDEA began the plans to plant a unique church
specifically for them. In 1993, some
of us didn’t live in Northwest Indiana nor would we have attended a
church! But the CDEA was praying for
you and for me. Fast forward to the summer of 2003. The prayers of CDEA turn to action. Staff was hired. Batting cages in the basement of a realty
building were converted to a meeting place for children and adults. The vision and mission were fine
tuned. A launch team was
recruited. Then on September 28th,
2003 the prayers of many became a reality as Life Bridge Christian Church
opened its doors to the community for the first time. People came…you came…responding to
postcards and personal invitations.
God was at work. |

God continued to work through us. People continued to come and we added a
service and began to dream of having a place in the community where we would
be able reach even more people. Then
the 10.2 acres on south State Route 2 came to us in a way that only God could
orchestrate. The path was made clear
and in February 2005 the Field of Dreams was purchased. We began to pray about who God would reach
with this land.Since then we have continued to reach out to our friends,
neighbors, coworkers, and our community.
Grillin’ & Chillin’, Student Coffee Houses, Kids Camp, Circles of
Grace, First Contact, Help Us Help the Homeless, Project Valpo (growing in
2007!), Blood Drives, and Porter County Fair help us do just that. People
continue to come. They get “On the
Path”, grow in their walk with God, and experience God’s freeing truth. Then the cycle continues as they share with
others.
